Brussels palace makes for royal city break
Dating back to the 18th century, the palace - which is located in the grounds of the Royal Park alongside other places of interest including the Belgian parliament - acts as the office for the monarchy in which the current king or queen grants audiences and deals with state affairs.
Over the summer months, visitors will be able to take a guided tour through the palace's various stately features such as the Marshall's room, which was previously used by King William I of The Netherlands and the Grand Hall, which holds numerous pieces of 19th century furniture.
The royal building also features a number of art exhibits including a monochrome series by Marthe Wery and photographs by Dirk Braeckman.
Those looking to continue a majestic trip to Brussels may also wish to visit the Grand Place and the Palace of Justice.
