One must-see statue is the Louis XVIII column which commemorates the return of Louis XVIII to France in the 19th century. Featuring a bronze plaque of the royal footprint and commemorative text, the beautiful white statue was declared a historic monument in 1933.

Visitors may also wish to the visit the French port's war monument.

Lace lovers will also be able to stop at Calais' Museum of Fine Art and Lace, which features a number of works from artists such as Picasso, Roding and Gonzales.
