Despite its rather humble beginnings as a train station, those who visit 1 rue de la Legion-d'Honneur during a break in France may now find a feast of culture rather than commuters as it is now home to the Musee d'Orsay.

Visitors to the museum will be able to take in a variety of art exhibits across three floors ranging from sculptures and 18th century paintings to photographs and drawings.

In addition there are a series of lectures, courses and musical performances running throughout the year.

Meanwhile, cinema buffs will be able to watch a host of movies at the museum as a number of film festivals are held there.

Tourists will be able to purchase refreshments at the Cafe des Hauteurs, before picking up some souvenirs at the museum giftshop.
