Laughs to be had with Manchester Comedy Festival
Every October, the city is revitalised as a host of comedians perform over the space of 11 days in an event that is likely to tickle the ribs of even the most stone-faced audience members.
Past acts include Jimmy Carr and Richard Herring, with a bevy of local talent such as Justin Moorhouse also appearing at the annual festival.
And with performances taking place in venues throughout Manchester such as the Dancehouse theatre, the Frog & Bucket and the Comedy Store, the event also acts as a great way for visitors to become familiar with the breath-taking city in the midst of autumn.
However, the festival is just one of the great annual events taking place in Manchester during the month.
October also sees the Manchester Food and Drink Festival come to the town which celebrates cuisine from across the globe.
