Manchester to host gastronomic bonanza
Though it is known more for its football than its food, this month's Manchester Food & Drink Festival should not be underestimated and should not be missed.

Kicking off tomorrow, the festival is scheduled to run for 12 days until October 16th.

These 12 days will see a veritable smorgasbord of food-themed events not just in the city itself, but its surrounding environs of Bolton, Chorlton, Bury, Tameside, Oldham and Trafford.

One of the highlights of the festival will be the Northern Quarter Trail.

The theme for the event this year is Fabulous Fairtrade and will feature such treats as Oodles of Noodles at The Chinese Arts Centre, Come Over to the Dark Side at the popular Odd Bar and A Taste of Cuba at the Copacabana.

Several popular city eateries are doing special meal deals for the duration of the festival, including the Mexican grill Barburrito, KRO and specialist tea and ice cream specialist Manna.
