Sand sculptures in Le Touquet
Le Touquet, also known as Paris by the sea, has an array of sand sculptures on show from the end of May until the end of September.
With different events or characters being portrayed through large sand sculptures each summer, the sights make a change from standard beach views.
Besides the attractions of the golden sands on the beach, Le Touquet in northern France boasts a rich architectural history, being home to a number of villas built in different styles.
Originally created in 1876 by the owner of Le Figaro newspaper, the resort has been a fashionable retreat for many people both from France and the UK ever since.
Characters such as Noel Coward graced the scene in the 1920s with a number of the villas in the region being commissioned around this time. They boast a mix of traditional styles and modernity and make the resort stand out as something different from the norm.
