Take sides as Romans and Carthaginians meet in Murcia
Taking place from September 22nd to October 1st, Cartagena's Carthaginians & Romans Festival is a historical masterpiece that is set to offer more than ever this year.
Hosted by the Murcian city of Cartagena, the festival is a celebration of history through reenactment.
Over the ten day period of the festival historical events are relived from the declarations of enmity towards Rome, the wedding of Hannibal and Himilce, a Roman circus, and the declaration of war with the Romans, all in historical dress.
AS the two sides fight for control of the city onlookers can take in the sight and smells as well as sample some more up-to-date refreshments and entertainments in the carnival like atmosphere.
The whole event climaxes with a huge fireworks display when the sacred fire is extinguished.
