Awesome art festival in Birmingham
Taking place each September, the West Midlands city hosts a wide variety of music, dance, arts and theatrical performances in a weekend that is sure to be jam packed with family fun.
But those on a tight budget concerned about how they are going to be able to afford to see the timetabled 400 events which are to take place need not concern themselves as the event is entirely free.
And with performances happening in venues across the city such as Millennium Point, Victoria Square and the Electric Cinema, getting a sense of the city's beautiful surroundings could not be easier.
However, with more than 100,000 people attending the festival over the weekend, visitors could be well advised to get a taste of the action early.
Those looking for other fantastic things to see and do in Birmingham should also look to check out the annual Gardeners Weekend festival and the bmibaby Beach which provides all the fun of the seaside in an urban environment - without the need to get your feet wet.
