Those wanting to combine some festival fun with an awareness of the environment may wish to choose Newcastle as the next destination for a short break in England.

Every June, the north-east city comes alive as it hosts the annual Newcastle Community Green Festival at Leazes Park.

The festival features a wide variety of music and dance performances, art exhibits and story-telling, in an event which is sure to provide a bevy of fun and enjoyment for all the family.

Meanwhile, more unique aspects of the event include origami, oriental belly dancing and sari-making, while visitors will also get the chance to learn more about the environment.
