Liverpool's tantalizing Tate
Based at the city's Albert Dock, the building houses a variety of international modern pieces in addition to British works ranging from the 15th century to the present day.
Pieces on display include works by Mark Rothko and Andy Warhol, with a number of temporary exhibits also taking place through the year.
The Liverpool gallery also holds a variety of lectures, workshops, film screenings and music and dance performances, ensuring that there will be something for everyone to get involved in.
Meanwhile, the amazing art extends into the Tate Cafe where as well being able to stop off for a bite to eat, visitors can marvel at a multi-coloured piece by Tobias Rehberger.
The gallery is just one of the four Tates across Britain, with the Tate Britain and Modern located in London, in addition to Cornwall's Tate St Ives.
And being the largest modern gallery outside London, the Tate Liverpool surely cements the city's history as a cultural hotspot, which has given birth to artists such as Richard Ansell and William Lindsay Windus and will be next year's European Capital of Culture.
