Manchester comes alive with Christmas markets
Every November the charming north-west city is rejuvenated as it hosts its annual festive markets which are sure to offer a warm welcome to visitors looking for that perfect present for their loved ones.
Taking place at St Ann's Square and Albert Square, the markets see a number of festive chalets and stalls crop up with a variety of continental gifts, jewellery and handcrafted toys on display.
In addition, visitors will be able to sample a variety of tasty dishes from across Europe.
And with the markets open right until a couple of days before Christmas there will be plenty of opportunity to pick up some gifts.
However, there is much more to Manchester than just the Christmas markets.
Shopaholics will be able to splash the cash in the nearby Arndale Centre, while Urbis allows visitors to Manchester the chance to take in some amazing modern art.
