National Museum offers wide range of awesome art
With beautiful columns and a domed roof, visitors to the National Museum in Cardiff will not only find the outside of the building astounding but are likely to derive pleasure from the culture crammed inside.

Featuring 15 art galleries, tourists and locals alike can take in a wide variety of paintings and sculptures from the last 500 years by artists including Monet, Rodin and Welsh artist Richard Wilson.

There are also various rocks, minerals and fossils on display in the geology department, in addition to a specialist library.

Meanwhile, visitors can also stop off at the archaeology section to observe items such as Celtic coins, cannonballs and remains of shipwrecks.

The museum also features a range of lectures, temporary exhibitions and concerts throughout the year.

However, with so much to do and see you'll need more than just a few hours to take in everything the museum has on offer. Tourists will be glad to know that it is open six days a week and does not charge an entrance fee.

Those after more culture in the Welsh capital may also wish to take a trip to the Cardiff Bay Visitor Centre which offers a comprehensive history of the area via a number of multimedia displays.
