St George's Hall makes for grand day out in Liverpool
For a day out which is heaving with history why not visit St George's Hall in Liverpool?

Recently reopened following a £23 million restoration project, the Grade I listed building now features a Heritage Centre allowing tourists to get a true sense of the hall and its place in the history of the north-west city.

With guided tours available, visitors will be able to visit the cells which were once inhabited by prisoners awaiting trial in the hall's court facilities.

Meanwhile, the World Heritage-Your Heritage room sees local community groups display exhibitions.

Visitors will also be able to stop off at the Minton Tea Room for refreshments and enter the viewing gallery for the Great Hall.

The neoclassical building also features a small concert room which can hold up to 1,200 people.

For other historic halls during a trip to Liverpool, tourists may also wish to visit the city's cathedral and the Liver Building which features models of the birds of the same name on its domes.
