Superb ship in Bristol
All aboard!

For some seafaring adventures while on a short city break, Brunel's SS Great Britain in Bristol may well be the place for you.

Set on the banks of the River Avon, the ship was the largest floating vessel when it was launched in1843 and although it no longer takes to high waters, a step inside is still set to be captivating.

Visitors will have the opportunity to go on a number of audio guided tours, which provide retellings of the lives of the passengers and crew members of the ship.

There is also the chance to walk around the SS Great Britain's engine room, which has been constructed as a replica of how it would have been in 1845.

Meanwhile, tourists may wish to stop off at the nautical gift shop where, with more than 3,000 items to choose from, selecting that perfect souvenir may take a little longer than expected.

And with the ship winning a host of awards including Enjoy England's Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2007, you can be sure to have a great time on this beautiful boat.

Other tourist attractions in the city include Berkeley Castle and the City Museum and Art Gallery.
