York's magnificent Minster
The largest gothic cathedral in northern Europe, arduous visitors can climb the building's 275 steps to get a majestic view of the Yorkshire city.
However, those wanting a more grounded experience can visit the Minster's undercroft which covers the city's 2,000 year history and features various jewellery exhibitions.
Tourists can also explore the crypt to learn more about the extensive history behind the cathedral before stopping off at the gift shop to pick up a variety of souvenirs.
Meanwhile, the inside of the Minster features various religious monuments and beautiful stained-glass windows.
Earlier this month, the city was named the best tourism destination in Europe by European Cities Marketing.
And with recommendations like that why not stop off at York Minster for a great day in the city?
