Butlins expands into time share for family holidays
Holiday camp company Butlins is to introduce a new product on to the UK holiday market that will allow families to guarantee a holiday for the next 30 years.

The new time share scheme will offer families the opportunity to purchase the right to use a one bedroom flat at Butlins' Minehead resort for a week in May for a one off fee of £6,000.

For an extra £5,000 guests can buy a larger holiday home with two bedrooms for a week in August for 30 years.

The new development is to be known as the BlueSkies project and is the first time Butlins has offered its apartments on a time share basis.

There are 24 one-bedroom timeshares available, and 20 of the larger schemes. Further availability is planned for its resorts at Bognor Regis and Skegness.

BlueSkies' chief development officer Mike Crowther claimed the scheme would offer a "holiday heaven for the growing number of people who enjoy the fun and convenience of a UK family break".

Adding: "We are aiming to create a development that is luxurious, flexible, great value and guarantees a first rate family holiday."
