Prague Castle
Czech Republic's captivating castle.
Reported to be one of the largest buildings of its kind in the world, tourists to the Czech Republic may be well advised to stop off at the Prague Castle.
Visitors will be able to go on a guided tour of the attraction which includes the Old Royal Palace, St George's Basilica and an exhibition telling the history of the castle.
However, for an extra special experience, tourists may wish to visit in May or October where one day in each month, official state rooms used by the president are open to the public.
Meanwhile, the changing of the guard takes place every hour with a flag ceremony hosted in the First Courtyard at noon.
The castle also features the country's crown jewels, although visitors wishing to see them are likely to be out of luck as they are heavily guarded.
Art aficionados can view Bohemian-period pieces at the Convent of St George.
Those looking for a further sense of culture while in the Czech Republic could also be advised to visit the city's National Museum.
