Dublin Theatre Festival gets its act together

Dublin Theatre Festival gets its act together
The cream of Irish thespians will be plying their trade this month at the prestigious and popular Dublin Theatre Festival.

Having kicked off at the end of September, the festival will run all the way through till October 14th.

One of the most anticipated productions will be The Exonerated, as it has just been announced that Starsky and Hutch star David Soul will be appearing as Gary Gauger, alongside American actor Aidan Quinn.

The play chronicles the experiences of six innocent prisoners on death row and in the past has attracted such names as Danny Glover and Susan Sarandon.

Another production that many are looking forward to is that of Emilia Galotti, a classic piece of German theatre which has been received with acclaim everywhere it has been performed.

The New York Times described the play as "erotic…powerful and haunting".

Performed exclusively in German, the play will feature English surtitles.
