Dutch square is Dam good
Located in the heart of Amsterdam, the Dam Square is likely to provide everything tourists could want for a brilliant break in the European city as it provides a wide variety of things to visit and take part in.

Top on everyone's list, however, should be the Royal Palace. Said to be the largest secular building in Europe, visitors can take a guided tour of the palace, which while no longer inhabited by the royal family is still used for a number of state functions.

Visitors can also stop off at one of the many bars and cafes for a bite to eat before carrying out a spot of shopping at the Bijenkorf department store.

Meanwhile, the square is periodically used as the location of a funfair with street performers and dancers sure to provide fun for all the family.

The square also features waxworks museum Madame Tussauds and the New Church which is often used as an art galley and recital hall.

Holidaymakers in Amsterdam who wish to further their sense of culture while in the city may also wish to visit the annual Holland festival which takes place every June.
