Edinburgh hosts Scots Fiddle Festival
Fiddle 2007 is coming to Edinburgh this November and some of the best traditional fiddle players will descend on the awe-inspiring Scottish capital.

To be held at the Assembly Rooms from Friday November 16th to 18th, three major concerts will take place as well as an early Sunday evening show.

The Friday show will boast a world premiere of Simon Thoumire's Scots Fiddle Concerto, featuring Aidan O'Rourke, Jenna Reid, Gordon Gunn, Mairi Campbell and Patsy Reid.

Saturday sees Catriona Macdonald and her childhood friend Annbjorg Lien attempt to forge musical links between their native Shetland and Norway, bridging traditional and contemporary music.

Sunday plays host to Swap on tour where audiences will be able to hear thrilling musical adventures from Anglo-Scandinavian roots.

Many more great fiddle players will be entertaining crowds over the weekend.

What's On When reports that two operas about rescuing damsels: Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia and Mozart's Seraglio (The Abduction from the Harem) will be coming to Edinburgh from November 22nd to 1st December.
