Feel the music at Lille festival
Music fans wishing to combine their passion with a trip to the continent next year may wish to consider taking a trip to Lille.

Every year, the French city comes alive in a flurry of sound and colour as it hosts its annual Festival des 10 Vagues (10 Wave Festival).

Taking place every May and lasting for two months, the festival sees a wide variety of musical events take place across the city's eight districts.

And with its name referring to the ten different styles of music that are to be presented at the festival, visitors should be able to find something for them whether their tastes range from Metallica to Mozart.

Meanwhile, more than 100 concerts, carnivals, balls and dance exhibitions are to be held.

In the past the festival has attracted performers such as Marielle Nordmann, La Noche Latina and Electronic Landscapes.

Those looking for a slightly more relaxed break, however, may wish to check out the city's Charles de Gaulle museum.
