International Handicraft Fair, Florence

Florence's fab crafts festival.

Visitors heading to the Italian city of Florence should take in the annual craft fair.

Held each April at the Fortezza da Basso, the event attracts both trade industry insiders and craft-lovers from across the globe.

The event is designed to recognise high-quality local craftsmanship from Tuscany and showcase some of the more interesting art forms from other parts of the world in a truly Italian setting.

As passionate as anything visitors will expect from the picturesque city, the International Handicraft Fair features stands and stalls from 700 exhibitors from five continents.

Children under the age of 12 are admitted to the fair for free, while standard tickets are priced at €4.

Visitors on a break in Florence may also wish to stop by the Basilica di Santa Croce or climb Giotto's bell tower for a stunning vista.
