Glasgow named top UK holiday city
Readers of Traveller, produced by publishers Conde Nast, voted for Scotland's second city ahead of rivals Edinburgh (second) London (third) Newcastle (fourth) and Leeds (fifth).
Glasgow's hospitality and lively nightlife were highlighted as reasons why the city is so popular.
The lord provost of Glasgow, Liz Cameron, told the Herald: "A lot of people have worked very hard to transform Glasgow and this is evidence of how successful we have all been."
According to the poll, Edinburgh ranked highly on safety and cleanliness, London for its bars and restaurants and Newcastle for its ease of travel.
