London comes alive for New Year Parade
The News Year's Day Parade will feature thousands of performers from the UK and beyond.
Dancers from continental Europe and a marching band all the way from the US will star in this year's event, which is the 21st annual parade.
The entertainment starts at midday on Parliament Street and snakes its way through Whitehall and into the West End before the grand finale at Green Park.
A wide variety of floats will be on show with dazzling costumes and slick routines, as well as a dose of comedy.
Organisers hope that Londoners will stop by after welcoming in the New Year the previous night.
The parade is due to finish at 14:45GMT.
