Madrid MetroRock Festival
Madrid hosts annual festival.
Thousands of live music lovers from around the globe are expected to descend on Madrid in June, to attend the annual MetroRock festival.
Next year, around 30,000 people could come to the capital city's Juan Carlos I Park for a two-day event showcasing some of the best Spanish acts as well as international bands.
From pop to indie, there is something for all tastes across the festival's three stages.
In keeping with Spanish tradition, revellers will be able to dance through the night and into the next morning as DJs spin the decks at the festival's clubbing tents.
MetroRock began in 2000, under previous name Fotorock, showcasing the best of music photography, however live bands were soon added to the bill.
This year's highlights included Franz Ferdinand, The Charlatans and Paul Weller, as well as Spanish act Muchachito Bombo Infierno.
Besides outdoors festivals, Madrid has a rich musical tradition, with folk, flamenco and jazz just some of the genres popular in the city.
