Every year the historic city of Edinburgh comes alive as it hosts its military tattoo.
Taking place every August, visitors will be able to take in a variety of military displays from military regiments across the world, including countries such as Fiji, Japan and Sweden.
Meanwhile, a particular highlight of the event is the mass pipes and drums performed by different regiments of the British army.
There are also captivating dance displays and firework displays to feast your eyes upon, as the Lone Piper plays out the event with his haunting tune.
As the tattoo comes to a close attendants join hands for a gripping rendition of Auld Lang Syne, enforcing the event's theme of friendship and unity.
But with some 217,000 people taking the trip to the tattoo every year, visitors could be well advised to book in advance.
Other fantastic tourist attractions in the city include Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland and the annual Fringe Festival.
