Old Town, Prague
Old town in Prague holds tourist delights.
Tourists looking for a touch of culture while on a break in Prague should head to the city's Old Town.
With the Old Town Square at its centre, the cobbled oasis dates back to the 13th century and has a host of attractions for intrepid visitors.
The square is the perfect place to start on a trip to the Old Town, with its pastel-coloured town houses and Gothic architecture.
A hub at most times of day, the square is a good meeting point and boasts several restaurants, cafes and shops.
Meanwhile, Powder Gate is one of the 13 entrances to the Old Town and at 656m tall one of the grandest. The tower in the gate is open to the public and offers some stunning views across the city.
Other attractions in the region include the Old Town Hall and the Rococo-style Kinsky Palace.
And if that isn't enough, Prague also boasts its own castle, one of the oldest buildings of its kind in the world.
