With the Old Town Square at its centre, the cobbled oasis dates back to the 13th century and has a host of attractions for intrepid visitors.
The square is the perfect place to start on a trip to the Old Town, with its pastel-coloured town houses and Gothic architecture.

Meanwhile, Powder Gate is one of the 13 entrances to the Old Town and at 656m tall one of the grandest. The tower in the gate is open to the public and offers some stunning views across the city.
