Fete Nationale, Paris

Paris celebrates national day with firework frenzy.

Every year Paris comes alive as the city observes Fete Nationale - the French national day.

Taking place on July 14th, the event - which is also known as Bastille Day - sees both French nationals and tourists alike celebrate the European country in a mixture of music and firework displays.

Visitors can view various military regiments parading down the Avenue des Champs-Elysees - which is located in the heart of capital - under the careful eye of the current president.

The Patrouille Acrobatique de France - the French version of the Red Arrows - will also astound audiences with their acrobatic aerial manoeuvres.

However, as night falls attentions turn to the firework showcase at the Champ de Mars, near the world famous Eiffel Tower, in which the Parisian sky is lit up beautifully.

Meanwhile, visitors will be able to end the day by listening to local orchestras or pop acts.

And with the big day just under three weeks away, those looking to take part in the fantastic French festivities could be well advised to book that holiday to France soon.
