Paris gets set for week of jazz
A wave of musical styles is set to overtake the French capital as the JVC Jazz Festival returns to Paris on October 14th and runs through until October 22nd.

Some of the world's leading tango, blues, jazz and jazz-rock musicians will be entertaining crowds at a host of spectacular venues across the city as part of the week-long event.

The festival was first staged in 1984 and has grown in stature and popularity ever since and has seen some of the most renowned names in world music performing, including Miles Davis, B B King and Earth, Wind and Fire.

"The scale and history of the JVC Jazz Festival program is huge, for 20 years since 1984, JVC has sponsored over 160 major jazz festivals to live audiences of almost four million people," the events own website reports.

Germany, England and the USA also play host to their own JVC Jazz Festival over the course of the year.
