Prague prepares to get jazzed up
Running from October 26th to November 2nd, the event is one of the must-attend events for jazz enthusiasts all over the world and has been running since 1964.
Shows for this year's festival – the 30th - will take place in the renowned Lucerna Music Bar and Reduta.
Jazz greats like Don Cherry, Keith Jarrett and Ornette Coleman are among the famous names that have played the festival in the past.
Last year's event included saxophonist Albie Donnelly and his band Supercharge, The Johnny Thompson Singers and vocalist Yvonne Sanchez.
The 2006 festival will have the legendary Rhoda Scott, Mudcat and the grammy-winning jazz harmonica Sugar Blue.
Václav Klaus, the president of the Czech Republic is to open the festival with a toast.
This year the festival will be sponsored by whisky-maker Chivas Regal.
