Sweet sound of music in Salzburg

Sweet sound of music in Salzburg
Taking place every July, the Austrian city of Salzburg comes alive as it hosts its annual festival.

During the biannual event, a variety of classical concerts, ballets, operas and drama performances are showcased over the course of four weeks.

Meanwhile, performances take place throughout the charming city from St Peter Abbey Church to the Mozarteum, which is dedicated to world-famous composer Mozart.

And as a result, the Salzburg Festival makes for a great way for tourists to familiarise themselves with this breath-taking city.

However, those wanting to carry on a fantastic break in Austria may also wish to visit the International Dance Festival in Vienna, which also takes place in July.

Nature lovers, on the other hand, may wish to take in the Tiergarten Schonbrunn zoo, located at the Schonbrunn Palace, which is the oldest zoo in the world.

The capital also features the stunning St Stephen's cathedral which was built in the 12th century.
